Meet The Docs:

Drs. Lauren and Jimmy Allgood are a husband and wife chiropractic team who's mission is to bring specific chiropractic care to the families of Steiner Ranch and the surrounding communities.  They chose to live and have a practice in Steiner Ranch because they were so drawn to the family-oriented community. They could not picture a better community to serve and to grow their family in. When they aren't sharing their passion of chiropractic, they enjoy spending time with their daughter Avery, family, and friends, traveling, boating and kayaking on the lake, and hiking through the hills and all around the beautiful city with their two dogs Ace and Dino!

Dr. Lauren is currently on maternity leave with Avery Lynn,  and we are patiently awaiting the arrival of Baby Allgood number two!

As a product of Leander High School, I was blessed to see an economy erupt with growth around me.  I witnessed two lane roads become major highways, and empty fields become major shopping centers.  Throughout my life I was told, "You are a product of your surroundings".  I am living proof of that.  With such a thriving economy in my hometown, I had no option but to become the very best version of myself.  I left Leander in 2006 and relocated to Dallas with hopes of becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic.  I attended North Lake College in Irving, Texas for my undergraduate training.  I briefly played college baseball before deciding to focus all of my efforts to Chiropractic.

After North Lake College, I was accepted into one of the top ranked chiropractic programs in the United States, Parker University.  There I was pushed to grow, and I achieved things I never thought were possible.   A principle that was instilled into me at Parker University was, "Develop a compassion to serve that is greater than the compulsion to survive".   I carry this mindset and philosophy with me always.  I even met my brilliant and talented wife at Parker!

After graduation, Lauren and I decided to move back to Austin and give back to the community that shaped me.  As a local youth, I dreamed of living my adult life near Lake Travis.  There is something about the lake has always called to me, and I feel at home when I am on it.  This played a pivotal role in locating our clinic.

After learning about how family-oriented the Steiner community is, and seeing the gorgeous scenery coming off of 620, we knew we were at home immediately.  We are so happy and filled with excitement to serve you and the community of Steiner.  Please take the time to come visit with us.  We would love the opportunity to get to know everyone here, and serve as your chiropractors!

Growing up in New Orleans, I played competitive softball at an early age.  I quickly grew a love and passion for the sport that I shared with my mom, dad, and two younger sisters.  We learned to support each other with everything that we have, and I am so blessed to still have their support in everything that I do.  Working hard throughout my softball career led me to two high school state championships, the award of Miss Softball Louisiana, and a collegiate scholarship.  Through high school and college, I also coached softball and gave pitching lessons for both young girls and girls at the high school level.  Coaching these young athletes gave me great joy, and it became a dream of mine to work with children throughout my career.

When I was in college, I began working for my cousin who is a chiropractor.  After receiving chiropractic care, my back pain that I always thought was just part of being a competitive athlete went away.  My energy levels increased drastically, and my immune system got stronger.  It was then that I realized that chiropractic care is not only an effective treatment for pain, but I also realized the positive effect it had on my nervous system and overall health.  After working with my cousin for a year, I was inspired by him to become a chiropractor myself.  I loved helping people as his chiropractic assistant, and I knew that I wanted to positively impact as many lives as a chiropractor as I can.

After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health from Nicholls State University, I packed up and moved to Dallas, Texas.  There I attended one of the top chiropractic schools, Parker University, where I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic.  Throughout school, I developed two loves that changed my life forever.  I fell in love with my husband, who inspires me everyday to be the best version of myself.  I also fell in love with chiropractic care for children and expecting moms.  This passion motivated me to obtain my Board Certification from The Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics of the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice. This certification allows me to offer the highest quality of care that I can to the families of my community.  Our goal is to help as many families as possible reach optimal health and happiness through chiropractic care, and we would be honored to serve you and your family!
